Dating online puts a lot of things to your advantage:
- You do not really have to worry about appearances.
- You can dedicate your entire force towards sounding intelligent and amusing.
- You don’t even have to worry about bad breath
When you are actually setting face to face with person, there are many things you have to pay attention to.
On your first date at you should keep up appearances. You don’t need to dress like something your note, but the other person should not feel embarrassed to be around you.
Physical appearance:
It is important that you have to appear well groomed.
Areas you should pay attention too:
- Nails – Get that dirt out of there
- Hair – Wash a comb it
- Teeth – Brush them
- Breath - Make sure it smells OK
Wear something that isn’t too loud and that doesn’t attract the wrong kind of attention. Make sure your comfortable in it and it that looks good on you.
Ladies: careful about your make-up. It’s meant to highlight your looks not to hide them.
Men: make sure your not smelling like whatever project you were working on before the date. You should smell good of course but don’t over dose yourself.
Charm
The thing here is just to make the other person comfortable. Help the other person relax. Try a joke or two to make the other person laugh.
Humor rarely fails. But again take care not to overdo it.
Don’t dominate the conversation but try to get the other person chatting.
People usually like to talk about things they are interested in. Ask them about their hobbies and show interest in what the other person is saying. This is always a good icebreaker.
Gifts – should you bring one on a date?
Generally, for a first date, it’s not a good idea as it complicates what should be a simple meeting.
On subsequent dates, small gifts like flowers or chocolates are OK and can win you points. Keeps the gift small, but don’t be too cheap.
You should also try to find out what the person like ... or better dislikes. You don’t want to buy chocolates with nuts in them, only to find out later the person is allergic to nuts. |
