1. When you are chatting with a possible date online,  a most useful way of figuring out if the other person is lying , is to ask that person very pointed questions about the area of interest you guys are talking about. If the other individual fumbles or gives unclear answers then you do not have to waste your time on such a person.

2. Another great idea is to write down specific details the other person talks to you about. In future meeting, casually question the person about those same details. Listen for any contradiction in the two discussions.

 3. To see if the person is on the same track as you in your dating purpose, you can ask the potential date seemingly broad questions, but which have a specific purpose.  For example, you can ask the person what he or she is looking for a relationship. Make sure to take note of the answer. In future meetings, ask the question again. If he/she answers the same, then you person is probably telling you the truth about what they are truly looking for.
